JHUMKA EARRINGS

The word ‘Jhumka’ translates to ‘bell’ and comprises a floral stud and a jewelled dome intricately linked together. Apparently, it was the Bharatanatyam dancers who popularized the jhumka earrings in contemporary India and one can see why – the movement and fluidity this style of earring embodies closely mirrors the dance form.
